POSSE
POSSE is a national leadership development and college access program that recruits outstanding urban youth from a diversity of backgrounds. POSSE extends to these students the opportunity to pursue personal and academic excellence by placing them in supportive, multicultural teams (“Posses”) of 10 to 12 students. POSSE scholars have a graduate mentor for the first two years they are at the University of Illinois. The Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA) provides office space as well as training and staff development for the graduate mentors. POSSE students are entitled to all OMSA services.
