President's Leadership Program (PLP)
Through the President's Leadership Program (PLP), we help students to identify employment contacts, leadership forums, internships, study abroad and summer research opportunities.
The Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA) offers two primary career related services: the President’s Leadership Program (PLP) and the Multicultural Career Fair. PLP provides opportunities for PLP qualified students to develop leadership skills, earn money through summer internships and gain professional work experience while pursuing their undergraduate degrees. Students are able to receive guidance on various topics including selecting a major, securing summer internships, obtaining full-time employment and enrolling into a graduate school program.
The OMSA works with the University system of the PLP office to provide informational services to students. Students are encouraged to think through their own career goals versus their career skills and abilities through assessment tools such as the Career Decision Making System. OMSA also works in partnership with the Career Center who provide and maintain a Career Corner at OMSA East (701 South Gregory, Suite I).
