MAEOPP Education Foundation
State Liaisons (MSLs)



The MEF State Liaisons (MSLs) are volunteers who assist the MAEOPP Education Foundation in raising scholarship funds for students.  MSLs also get the opportunity to learn and participate in a new profession while they volunteer: philanthropy.  To volunteer, contact Dr. Carol Carson-Warner, Coordinator of MSLs, at ccarsonw@csu.edu, or  773/995-2566.

The basic duties of MSLs are as follows:

Identify, or assist in identifying, potential funding sources;

MSLs coordinate, or assist in coordinating, fund raising activities in the respective states. This includes the development of proposals and public relations materials;

MSLs coordinate, or assist in coordinating, The Annual Campaign and other MEF fund raising campaigns, e.g., the Silas Purnell Fund Campaign Drive, the Ralph Pruitt Fund Campaign Drive and the Chuck Cantale Fund Campaign Drive;

MSLs develop and implement, or assist in developing and implementing, flyers, brochures, videos, press releases, PowerPoint presentations, etc.,

MSLs insure that MEF contribution forms and flyers are available at the chapter’s annual conference and that an MEF ad appears in the conference program;

MSLs assist the Foundation in preparing and implementing its strategic fund raising plan;

MSLs develop and implement, or assist in developing and implementing; MEF and MAEOPP Board training sessions;

MSLs develop and implement, or assist in developing and implementing, general training sessions for persons interested in becoming MSLs, or in assisting the Foundation in other roles;

MSLs identify resource persons, both members and non-members, who can assist the Foundation in raising scholarships and award resources for the students of MAEOPP;

MSLs prepare and implement workshops at Chapter and the MAEOPP Annual Conference; and

          MSLs represent the Foundation in meetings with donors and potential donors.
