17th Annual National McNair Research Conference and Graduate Fair

What are the Features of the Conference?
The McNair National Research Conference offers a variety of features for attendees:
- A Graduate/Professional School Fair, featuring more than 50 of the country's top graduate schools,
- Networking Activities where student participants may interact with graduate/professional school faculty and representatives in an informal, relaxed setting;
- Workshops that are designed for students who are just beginning to consider graduate study, as well as those who are currently going through the graduate/professional school application process;
- Presentations by McNair scholars from around the country, sharing the fruits of their research projects;
- Good food and fun and great company in a relaxed, resort setting!
How do I Register?
Registration is very simple. Go to the Registration link in the menu to the left, read the instructions carefully, and click on the Begin link.
Who Should Attend?
The McNair National Research Conference is designed for and open to McNair scholars from around the country. Until presentation slots are filled, programs may designate up to five McNair Scholars to present their research. An additional five Scholars may participate in poster sessions. We will contact you if additional presentation space becomes available. Print one student registration form for each presenter.
What is the Cost to Attend?
- $475 for double or quad occupancy; includes lodging for Friday and Saturday evenings at Lake Lawn Resort, dinner on Friday, three meals on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday, as well as all conference materials and events.
- $595 for single room occupancy (staff only--we cannot accommodate requests for single rooms for students); includes lodging for Friday and Saturday evenings at Lake Lawn Resort, dinner on Friday, three meals on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday, as well as all conference materials and events.
- $350 for conference registration with lodging elsewhere; includes all meals, conference materials and events, but no lodging.
- $265 for Graduate Fair representatives who wish to attend only the graduate fair and the Friday evening meal. Graduate fair reps registering for the entire conference should add this charge to the conference fees listed above. (There is no option for Lake Lawn Resort lodging for Friday night only).

Refund policy:
Registration fees paid in advance are
refundable less a processing charge of 50% of the actual
registration fee. You must use the online application to cancel
on or before the deadline (September 26th, 2008). No refund
request will be processed if submitted
later. All approved refunds will be disbursed after the conference.
Who May Present?
McNair programs may designate up to FIVE McNair Scholars to present their research orally at the conference. Students must already have conducted their research, and not be merely presenting a research proposal. When Friday and Saturday presentation slots are filled, presenters will be scheduled for Sunday. As many as five additional Scholars may participate in poster sessions. Note information concerning computer technology - we will have neither computers nor computer projectors available.
All presenters (oral and poster) must submit an abstract for the program book with name, faculty mentor, research department and title.
